Reasons why Servdebt is one of the best companies to work for in Portugal

When challenged to write about why Servdebt is one of the best companies to work for in Portugal, it was easy to immediately think of benefits. And this is because, at Servdebt, perks exist, and we take them for granted. For us, benefits are the New Way, Our Way.

From the most trivial benefits at Servdebt (such as attractive facilities, with leisure and lounge areas, full services that go from free doctor consultations at the office, free massages and manicure, delivery of pharmacy, and much more), to those that are already quite common within medium size companies (such as the possibility of days off, health insurance and hybrid work policy), or to those that follow the most recent international trends (such as the reduction of the number of working hours per week). Servdebt is a company that already offers all of that despite, unfortunately, not being as common as it should within the market of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Portugal, where more than 90% of the companies are classified as Micro, and only 0.5% have the denomination of Medium (2019 data, cf. Sources/Entities: INE, PORDATA - last update: 2021-03-29).

What for us, Servdebt's employees, for us, medium-sized companies, for us, companies located in the largest metropolitan area of the country, is trivial, for most of the persons who work in Portugal, is still a mirage.

But then, benefits are not everything and they can’t be the only reason to get up every day thinking "how to do better, how to go further".

Therefore, besides the tangible benefits, which other criteria can justify the fact that Servdebt can claim to be classified as one of the best companies to work for in Portugal?

This classification come from all of us employees, by the act of recognizing the merit of our colleagues without whom Servdebt wouldn't be what it is today and couldn't have the vision of reaching future goals. 

The "birth" of a company is always the fulfillment of a dream, the dream that many may dream about, but that only few fearless ones make it come true. Of those, only a few have the right vision, the knowledge, and the luck to carry it through and to grow step by step until becoming bigger than the expectations.

Although, this dream will not move forward without the participation of all those who, since day 1, have contributed with their knowledge, their personality, their will to give and to learn, to do more and better.

Servdebt is one of the best companies to work for in Portugal because of its conscience that there is still a long way to go and by challenging every day those who work at Servdebt to do better, to adopt the best practices, and to be more rigorous and ambitious.

Is this easy? No. Is it attractive to everyone? No.

Is Servdebt the perfect company? Far from that. This fact is beneficial for those who had embarked on this journey, having the opportunity to improve and grow.

We are the company that someone dreamed of, we are the fulfillment of that dream, we go where we don't even know we can go, always with the certainty that "there is no path, the Path is made by walking" and the sky is the limit.

Quando desafiada para escrever sobre o porquê de a Servdebt ser uma das melhores empresas para trabalhar em Portugal, fácil foi pensar, de imediato, em benefícios. E isto porque, na Servdebt, existem e os damos como assentes. Para nós, os benefícios são o New Way, Our Way.

Dos que já são mais triviais (como instalações convidativas, com áreas de lazer e serviços que vão do médico, à massagista, à manicure, à farmácia à porta, para citar alguns) aos que são comuns a empresas já com alguma dimensão, como dias de dispensa de trabalho, seguro de saúde, política de teletrabalho, até aos que acompanham as mais recentes tendências internacionais como é a redução do número de horas de trabalho por semana.

Tudo isto a Servdebt já oferece, mas tudo isto ainda não é, infelizmente, o habitual no tecido empresarial das Pequenas e Médias Empresas (PME) em Portugal em que mais de 90% são classificadas como Micro e apenas 0,5% tem o estatuto de Média (dados de 2019, cf. O que para nós, colaboradores da Servdebt, para nós, Médias Empresas, para nós, empresas localizadas numa das maiores áreas metropolitanas do país, é o trivial, para a maioria dos que trabalham em Portugal ainda é uma miragem.

Mas, os benefícios não são tudo e, sobretudo, não são motivo suficiente para nos levantarmos todos os dias a pensar “como fazer melhor, como ir mais longe”.

Então, para além dos benefícios tangíveis, que outros critérios poderemos ter em conta para justificar a pretensão da Servdebt de ser classificada como uma das melhores empresas para trabalhar em Portugal?

A classificação é nossa, colaboradores, quando olhamos para o lado e reconhecemos o mérito dos nossos colegas sem os quais a Servdebt não era o que é, não tinha chegado onde está nem poderia perspetivar alcançar os objetivos futuros.

O “nascimento” de uma empresa é sempre a concretização de um sonho, o sonho que muitos poderão sonhar, mas que apenas alguns destemidos concretizam. E, destes, apenas uns quantos têm a visão, o saber e a sorte para levar avante e passar etapa a etapa até se tornarem maiores do que as expectativas. 

No entanto, esse sonho não avançará sem o contributo individual e de equipa de todos aqueles que, desde o 1.º dia, contribuíram com o seu saber, a sua personalidade, a sua vontade de dar e de aprender, de fazer mais e melhor.

A Servdebt é uma das melhores empresas para trabalhar em Portugal porque tem ainda muito para caminhar, para fazer. Porque desafia todos os dias os que com ela colaboram a fazer melhor, a ter as melhores práticas, a serem mais rigorosos, a serem ambiciosos.

Se isto é fácil? Não. Se é algo atrativo para todos? Também não.

Se é uma empresa perfeita? Longe disso, o que é bom para quem está na viagem. Dá-nos margem para melhorar e crescer.

Somos a empresa que alguém sonhou, somos a concretização desse sonho, caminhamos para onde nem sequer sabemos que poderemos chegar com a certeza de que “o caminho faz-se caminhando” e que o céu é o limite.
