Buy or rent: which option suits you best?
To decide which is the best option for each one, in terms of buying or renting a house, there are some personal issues that we need to have in mind.
So, if you are the kind of person who likes to have a stable kind of live, and if you have the possibility to buy a house, I’d say that this is the best option. This way you are making your own investment, paying your expenses, and you can do whatever you decide to do with it. You can live in it for how long you want without, per example, needing to think if the rental is coming to an end, if the landlord is going to upgrade your rent, or waiting to repair whatever it needs to be repaired - however, these expenses are your own responsibility.
In the other hand, if you like to change every now and then, and don’t want to have any financial responsibility or take the risk of investing in a house, the best option for you is renting. This way, you can move around according to your personal needs, whether it is because of a growing family or moving in between jobs, or simply because you just think that the environment you’re in isn’t the one you appreciate any more, per example. However, remember that you are paying for someone else's house/investment.
Thus, I’d say that the choice is intimately related to the kind of personality you have and, unfortunately for some, with the “stable” kind of life you can achieve.
