Corporate Social Responsability

Corporate Social Responsability

Social responsibility is defined as a concept where companies decide, on a voluntary basis, to contribute to the sustainable development of society and the community in which they operate, as well as to a cleaner environment.

Nowadays, large companies are increasingly solidary, getting involved with society in general and regularly develop social projects and programs. There are all kinds of solidarity options and more and more new ideas emerge, as many as the institutions to help.

Contrary to what we may think, this approach of companies to society is not recent, what differs, is the way in which companies communicate their solidarity actions.

The importance of communication, whether internal or external, is growing, and it tends to become more careful, clear and incisive. We currently live in the digital age, so fast and effective communication channels between companies and their stakeholders are not lacking. Social media, for external audiences, and the intranet, for internal audiences, are examples of two channels with an almost instant return when we want to communicate certain information, action, or other news regarding the company's activity or its market’s performance. In the case of social solidarity institutions, the actions that are carried out and disseminated through social media or other channels, in addition to their primary objective of solidarity, are equally important for their self-promotion and to attract new and more benefactor entities.

Companies that invest in Social Responsibility, in addition to tax benefits, also benefit from:

  1.  Improved public image - greater seriousness and commitment;

  2.  Involved and more motivated employees

  3.  Competitive edge in the market - Partners, Suppliers and Investors value companies with a similar social culture and responsibility.

  4.  Proximity to society - sensitivity and concern for what surrounds us.

 Since 2014, everyone at Servdebt has been involved in social initiatives. We believe that a socially responsible environment, centered on helping others, is very important in building Servdebt's culture. Values such as Commitment and Transparency are fundamental to our structure, and solidarity helps a lot to give them greater consistency.

At Servdebt we have already worked with many institutions, and we value every type of action and try, whenever possible, not to repeat institutions. We always like to reach new people and causes. However, there are projects that are already too “dear” to us, and for that reason, every year, at Christmas, we join The Salvation Army (known as “Exército da Salvação” in Portugal) and participate (Servdebt and its Collaborators) in their Angel Tree adoptions program (“Anjinhos de Natal”, in portuguese).

We are finalizing our Solidarity Campaign for 2021: 14 years of Servdebt = 14 solidarity actions = 14 different institutions.

Another challenge that we want to end with a lot of smiles created and a sense of accomplishment.
