This June 24th, took place the first face-to-face event of the year in the NPL sector, the NPL Days Portugal conference, organized by DD Talks, and Servdebt couldn't miss it!

This event, that counted with Servdebt’s support as Gold Sponsor, gathered, at the Corinthia Hotel, in Lisbon, Portugal, senior investors, banks, funds, servicers, and real estate experts operating in the Portuguese Non-Performing Loans market.

Still in a pandemic context, progressively post pandemic, DD Talks sought to ensure compliance with various security measures related to COVID-19, one of the most important being the capacity of the conference room, with an occupation of only 35% of the space.


In addition to being present as a Sponsor, Servdebt was represented by Luís Chaves, our Business Development Director, as a speaker at the panel discussion “Buying Opportunities", where he shared his insightful views on the distressed debt buying opportunities in Portugal. This panel sought to answer the following questions:

• Covid-19 opened the door to a new pool of NPLs. What are currently the most attractive investment opportunities?
• The current big interest in the NPL Portuguese market from the international funds is expected to increase, leading to competitive tension in the sale process. What will be the impact on prices?
• What regulatory changes are investors hoping to change to facilitate a better investment experience?
• How to create a more liquid and better functioning secondary market for NPLs?

With more than three hours of gathering, and 120 participants on site, there were great opportunities for networking, catch-up and possible business during the event. It was a pleasure to be part of this group, and to be able to contribute, as Sponsor and with a Speaker, to such interesting and relevant debates, given the pandemic context and its impact on the market.
